Googling Tina Mahony......OMG
I have just googled myself to see if that idiot bearuk - Steve Ayres - still has the top spot for my name. And he has! This guy is insane (if you read his post you may be able to work that out)
I sold him a ponyskin LC Chaise on ebay in the very, very, very early days before my proper website was up & the warehouse sent him a plain one by mistake.
This would normally be a case of letting me know & I get it swapped over for the right one, wouldn't it? Not for Steve Ayres. Oh My God I have never seen such drama, before or since. The yelling, the long emails, the constant phone calls. I had Betrayed Him. So he wanted it picked up & his money back, which was fine with me, Id far rather give someone their money back than deal with screaming (its a chaise, Steve, not a lung)
But then he started ringing the wholesaler, a tricky bunch to deal with (their products were great, but they were a nightmare). Disorganised, unresponsive & really annoyed that this tosser kept phoning & yelling.
Eventually, they picked it up & he got his money back & in the meantime I was getting two or three hysterical phone calls & some seriously odd emails from him, & I snapped & told him I thought he needed psychiatric help. Not something he wanted to hear, so of course he posted on his blog, & the real culprits/cause of his heartache (the wholesaler) got off scot free. Ho hum.
And blogs being so SEO friendly there it sits at the top of google!
Still, my website, http://www.gomodern.co.uk was up & running a few months later, we eventually dumped that wholesaler & we branched out into high end furniture from Italy. We still sell those repro LC chaise longues but we get them from Italy so alls well that ends well.
Bearuk by the way refers to the community Steve belongs to. Its really hairy guys who like to, ahem, cuddle each other. They have little avaters, like Steves but with various different faces etc. Not that I have any particular judgement about such things, each to his own & all that.
I havent bothered contacting Steve because I cant see any point, hopefully, my own blog will outrank his google wise & that will be that. If not, & Steve Ayres doesn't like being written about in blogs then I have a fantastic lawyer on stand by, highly recommended by our PR company who know about these things.
And if you want to buy a Le Corbusier chaise longue then you know where to find a good one. We are also going to get them covered in fabric, you choose from our vast selection, supply your own, or tell us about a fabric you want, it gets sent to Italy, & 6 weeks later you will have a seriously cool chaise! The leather ones are so over (most of the classics have been done to death by China Im afraid) but a Vivienne Westwood fabric covered one? Thats VERY cool.
